We are a buhurt club out of North Lakes. A few of us started Iron Templars because we wanted a fixed crew to train with, fight with, and stick around for.
Worth saying upfront: this is a private sports club. We have no connection to the ADF, Defence, or any government department.
Buhurt is full-contact armoured combat. You fight in steel, you take hits, and you learn fast that technique matters as much as strength.
Saturdays are training. When something is on the calendar we head to tournaments, usually around QLD and sometimes interstate.
You can turn up with no armour and no idea what buhurt is. Military background or not, does not matter. Message us, watch a session, or get on the field when you are ready. Fighters and support crew both keep this club running.
Be straight with people. Say what you will do, then do it on and off the field.
Fight hard, stay disciplined, and show the same respect to teammates, officials, and whoever is across the list field.
The people holding kit, driving to events, and stitching straps back together matter just as much as the ones in armour. That is how this club runs.
There is always another level to find: sharper technique, better conditioning, armour that actually stays together when it matters.
Bad sessions and bad days happen. You take the lesson, patch what needs patching, and come back ready to work.

"Iron Sharpens Iron"
You get better by training alongside people who push you. On the field and off it, we sharpen each other.
This is not a veterans-only club. Anyone can join Iron Templars. If you have served in the ADF, you are welcome here too.
A lot of veterans miss the physical grind, the standards, and having a tight group around them. Buhurt gives you that back in a sports club, not a uniform.
Our Club Captain, Simon Ilton, is a former Australian Defence Force member. He gets what veterans are looking for, but the team is built for anyone ready to put the work in.
You do not need to know buhurt already. Come to a Saturday session, ask questions, and see if the team fits. No armour required to start.
Train with us, fight with us, and pull your weight off the field too. Open to everyone. Veterans welcome.
Every Saturday from 10 AM. Drills, conditioning, and sparring with people who have been in the game long enough to teach you properly.
Served in the ADF? You will find people here who get it. Never served? Same team, same standards. This club is open to both.
You look after your mates. Kit gets carried, cars get driven, armour gets fixed. Everyone has a job and everyone counts.
We travel to tournaments around Queensland and interstate when we can. You wear the club colours and fight as a unit.
Real steel, real contact. This is not a demo fight. You find out quickly what you are good at and what still needs work.
You do not need to figure it all out alone. Ask about armour, insurance, and the basics. Someone on the team will point you in the right direction.
Serious fighters can end up at events overseas. Poland, Europe, wherever the calendar goes. Earn your spot and we will back you to get there.
Join us on the field. All welcome, no experience needed.
